MY AMAZING CHINA EXPERIENCE
Day 1
We woke up very early in the morning to catch our flight going to Xiamen, China. We make sure that all of the important things to bring are prepared the day before the flight. This is the day I am looking up to because today is my first time going out of the country and I am so excited! My daughter will join in the International Mathematics Wizards Challenge beginning on May 19 to May 23, 2017 as one of the participants to be held in Xiamen,China.
Soon
it’s boarding time and I just need to say I really love the view up above from
my plane seat, the fluffy clouds touching the plane, the bright sunshine, the
blue sea and the clean sky.
Thank
God we arrived safely in Xiamen after about three hours flight from the Philippines.
The facilitator guides us all the way from our tour bus and we are on our way
to our first destination which is the famous park in Xiamen. The park is very big. We took some photos to keep as our souvenirs. After strolling in the
park, the whole group checked in a restaurant and eat our lunch. While we are
on our way to the hotel, the tour guide tells some interesting facts and
stories about the place. We arrived at the hotel and make our registration
first and bring our luggage in our hotel room. The room is so big and the view
from our hotel window is great,surrounded by tall buildings and establishments.
We explore the hotel and meet my friends. We are all very happy and excited to
be here. Soon it is dinner time and as we expected, the foods are very
delicious and great. It looks like a feast!
Day 2
Today is an exciting day for all of the participants because we will go the famous amusement park in Xiamen. The Fantawild Dreamland. It is very huge theme park with so many rides and attractions like Enchanted Kingdom or Star City here in the Philippines but much larger and bigger. We ride in roller coasters and water slides and kiddie attractions like carousels and bumper cars. We also bought some toys and souvenirs to give to my loved ones when I get back home. We spend the whole day laughing and enjoying with my friends.
Day 3
I
am feeling nervous because today is the contest proper of the competition. We greatly enjoyed our experiences with mathematics competitions. We went
outside to have a trip while the participants was left at the hotel for the contest. When the
contest ends, we are joined with our child at a restaurant to have our lunch
beside the sea. Sitting
in the seaside for two hours was a joyful thing for me. It is really amazing to
see the sunset on the seaside. Soon it is time to go back to the hotel and have some rest. 
Day 4
The
facilitator said to wear some comfortable clothes for today and bring more
water because we will have a tour to Gulangyu. It is an islet in Fujian,China
and famous for their old buildings and structures and the old culture of the
city. We ride in a ferry for to us to be able to go to the islet. The people
there are friendly. Foods and souvenirs are bargained along the streets for the
tourists to buy and give to their loved ones. Sunlight Rock Scenic Area, Shuzhuang
Garden and Piano Museum are the attractions that I loved the most. Feels like
we go on a hike strolling around Gulangyu. It is a very tiring day to all of
us.
Late afternoon is the time of awarding. When they called my daughters grade level, they called her for the Merit Award. I was very surprised and happy at the same time. All of us are celebrating at the results.
Before
we go back to the hotel, we went to a mall there to buy some stuffs and gifts
to give to my loved ones when we get back home.
DAY 5
Days after the contest, everyone
at school congratulated my daughter,Alexa. The City Mayor and City Government of Tanauan also
requested to go to the municipal hall and give Alexa a plaque of recognition.
Joining in the contest and going to China was a great experience for us and a journey
to remember.
